In the town of Tepatitlán de Morelos, Don Jorge sought to pass down generations of tequila-making wisdom to his children, including his daughter Esmeralda, whose creative vision and deep-rooted love for Mexican culture shaped the company’s expansion.
Growing up amidst agave fields, Esmeralda absorbed every aspect of tequila production, from fermentation aromas to barrel nuances, instilling in her a profound passion for the craft and her heritage. With her father’s blessing and inspiration, Esmeralda forged Rey Del Mundo, a brand destined to transcend borders and captivate global palates.
Fueled by a desire to create an iconic tequila brand, Esmeralda dedicated five years to crafting an award-winning bottle, alongside her partner and Master Distiller, Octavio Macias. Rey Del Mundo’s journey culminated in accolades like the “Envase Estelar” in 2015, followed by prestigious awards including the Golden Medal for Tequila Añejo in Brussels, the Double Golden Medal in Hong Kong, and most recently the Gold medal from the U.S.A. Spirit Awards in 2023.
